Follicle update

So 4 days of injections turned into 12. I got really good at giving myself shots! I made Andrew watch a couple of times, but he got woozy, so I carried on without him.

It also turned into 6 office visits to monitor the follicle growth.

You know when you know you have to go to the lady Dr. & prepare for it, like shaving/trimming things, No sex the night before ect?

Yeah, that ALL went out the window. (To be fair though, the sex was at their direction/ timed intercourse schedule.) This whole schedule extended to cover 2 of my work weeks.

Tell me how eager you are to shave (or veet) your lady town after 3 12's. And mandatory sex! I was literally falling asleep in the bathtub some nights. Don't judge me.

People say that "trying is the best part!"

I call bullshit. The best part is sleeping.

I will say that I always make it a practice to bring a clean pair of socks with me. For the sake of your practitioner, do it.

From experience, sitting that close to a vagina (They always smell, I don't care what you try. It doesn't work & we just get used to it. Bodies smell no matter what you do. It's not a bad thing, but it's there) isn't the most pleasant experience. Sitting that close to a vagina in between stinky, sweaty feet makes it so much worse! And no one wants to accidentally brush up against gnarly toes, either.

So, I always bring socks. I prefer cute ones with animals or prints on them- it can start a conversation ;)

Like lobsters. They're officially my       "lucky lobster" socks.

So, 12 nights of injections, $2000 for meds & monitoring, 4 different meds, 6 ultrasounds, way too much too tired sex (seriously it's way less fun when you have to do it every other night...)

And we have 2 follicles that grew enough to ovulate. (17 & 18 respectively.) I'm not sure what the risk of twins is with 2 follicles, and I'm not sure I want to know. I would cry.

I did the trigger shot in the office (gave it to myself, thank you very much) on weds. 2 more nights of timed intercourse in the books & now we wait.

8 days after the injection (this coming Thursday, I get labs done to check my progesterone levels, and 16 days I get labs done for a pregnancy test.

(Funny story, I assisted in my NP's csection last year, and she remembered me! She told me that I put her catheter in- I told her that we were even now.)

So that's where we are now, the 2 week wait.

In other news:
- Captain America was awesome. Worth seeing more than once.
- Game of Thrones is back!
- Sephora had a 15% off sale for VIB Rouge members & I might have made 3 separate trips.
- we got our tax return (which might have contributed to the 3 trips to sephora.)

  1. Is it strange that I'm anxious for you? Like, I want that pregnancy test to come back positive so badly for you. (not as badly as you want it, I'm sure). I'll be thinking about you the next two weeks and praying for god news.
